We are a construction company based in Columbus, Georgia, specializing in custom-built homes, churches, restaurants, and other commercial spaces. We oversee the entire process and execute the construction swiftly and efficiently.
Our Story
Jamie Herndon grew up in the heart of the south, Hatchechubbee, Alabama. A country boy at heart, Jamie grew up helping his father with various projects around his family’s home and farm. From an early age, Jamie learned the value of hard work and the importance of loving your neighbor.
After returning home from working construction in Afghanistan, Jamie began working for a general commercial contractor while doing residential projects part-time. After a decade of working in commercial contracting, Jamie started his own company, Herndon Construction. Jamie attributes the success of Herndon Construction to the team, who commit nothing less than 100% to every project. Herndon Construction is a company built with a foundation of quality craftsmanship and genuine character.

Meet Our Team
Jamie Herndon | Owner, General Contractor
Jamie Herndon began working in construction in 2000. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, his project specialties include custom homes, churches, schools, restaurants, remodels, and additions.
After working construction in Afghanistan for four years, Jamie was hired by a commercial general contractor for over a decade. He currently serves on the Columbus Tech Foundation Board and the Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors. Jamie is married with three kids. He and his wife are currently serving as foster parents in Muscogee County. They are members of Crosspointe Church.
Chris Nolin | Master Carpenter, Foreman
Chris Nolin has worked in customer cabinetry and trim services for over a decade. He has been a member of the Herndon Construction team since 2015.
Chris is a Columbus, Georgia native. He is married with two children.
Stephen Mendoza | Lead Painter
Stephen was born and raised in Nicaragua. After attending the private University of Commercial Sciences he came to the US to pursue better opportunities for his family. Stephen specializes in details and finishes for each of our jobs.
Stephen is Assistant Pastor at his church and is married with two children.
Danielle Counts | Office Manager
Danielle Counts has been with Herndon Construction since 2017. She handles all daily transactions dealing with accounting, invoicing, communication, workers comp, licensing and so much more. She is often the first point of contact for a prospective or new client and makes herself available to assist with client care and client needs.
Every time you call or visit our office, you will be greeted by Danielle’s bright smile and kind personality. Danielle is married with three children. Danielle and her husband are members at CrossPointe Church.
Robin Higgins | Project Administrator
Robin has been part of the Herndon Construction team for a year, and her primary responsibilities pertain to the utilization of Co-Construct, a project management software for builders. In Co-Construct, she enters estimates and change orders, invoices clients, and tracks the financial aspects of projects. She loves to learn new skills and strives to make clients happy, which serves to further the success of Herndon Construction.
Robin graduated from Columbus State University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Information. Prior to joining the Herndon Construction team, Robin worked in healthcare, with primary responsibilities revolving around software usage. Robin enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family. Robin is married with two children and two grandchildren. She and her husband are members at CrossPointe Church.
